Where's Martha? A better question might be where isn't Martha! Martha at 2008 Equine Affaire After nearly 20 hours of driving, trekking across 5 states and the Mississippi River, the Josey Ranch entourage arrived in Columbus, Ohio for the 15th Annual Equine Affaire held at the Ohio Expo Center. When R.E., Martha, Pam Randall & Terry Thomas got settled in, the first demonstration they went to was Craig Cameron’s. It was super – what a horseman! Craig not only introduced R.E. and Martha, but also Jerry Dias, a traditional Mexican Cowboy Performer and Al Dunning, World Champion Reiner! Martha always says that a good horseman never stops learning and Craig is such a good clinician that he had multiple world champions in different disciplines during his seminar! Martha gave great demonstrations on “Going for It Mentally”, “From Basics to Starting Your Barrel Horse”, “Problems – Preventing and Solving” and “Keeping You and Your Athlete Ready.” Josey instructor Chris Martin joined the Josey crew on Friday afternoon helping with the last 3 seminars. Martha was fortunate to have great horses to use for her demonstrations that belong to former Josey students! Amilda Coffman’s pretty bay horse, Breeze was at our Team Josey clinic in October in Wilmington, Ohio! Michelle Smith, a former Josey intern, rode her great mare and helped Martha. Her mare is bred to her stallion, Draws A Crowd, who she is standing this year. Her ad is in Barrel Horse News. Eight year-old Morgan Pugh was on her 19 year-old mare, Sissy and made a great run for every demonstration! Morgan was 6 when she saw Martha’s demonstration 2 years ago and said she wanted to be a barrel racer. We will see her at the NBHA Finals and the NFR Finals one day! Martha always draws a great crowd and she was proud to represent the Josey Ranch and all her sponsors while at the Equine Affaire.
Martha has been
on a shopping spree! Martha also ran into former Josey Student JJ Hill, who is making a name for herself on television as an interviewer with the PRCA! Martha loves to run into her past students and see them succeed in the barrel racing industry! Check out The Barrel Racing Report for upcoming articles by Martha. To subscribe, visit www.barrelracingreport.com. Martha ran a
smoking 16.47 at the PRCA Rodeo in Marshall, Texas on Thursday, March
13th which put her in the top 4 for the entire rodeo! Way to run,
cowgirl!
