I am an amateur barrel racer over 40 and I have had two M. J. Ultimate
Saddles. They have been the key to my successful competition.
I attended the M. J. Spring Clinic and found a new saddle that was even
better suited for my advancement. The clinic was a great tune up for
me and my horse prior to the Reunion.
At the Reunion, where there were over 400 competitors, I won the money
and advanced to the finals placing 6th overall and they nicknamed me
"Colorado Flash."
The Reunion was definitely a thrill to be a part of and the highlight
to my winter season.
The M. J. Ultimate Saddle continues to gives me the confidence I need
in running to win.

I now have 4 of these saddles and they fit 2 quarter horses, 1 morgan and 1
arabian. BUT the most significant one is a paint QH mare with a seemingly
wide back, good withers but has one of those prominent shoulder bones with
a dip behind it. A few years ago when I first got her I tried many saddles
on her. (I had an MJ ultimate for all the others but I wanted each horse to
have its own saddle). Anyway, I would buy a saddle, ride it for about 3
rides and take it back and try another type. What she was doing is lunging
at the lope. Fast one stride, slow one stride, very choppy, had her head
down sorta twisted to the side. Very frustrating and of course I thought it
was just her and a training problem. Bless her little heart for me putting
all those (other) bad fitting saddles, she is just the best horse I could
hope for now. One day, I put one of the MJ's on her and WAHLA - I had a
rhythmic slow loping horse. I bought the 4th MJ after that. She is now very
trainable for lead changes and whatever else I try now. AND she now
competes I barrel racing with a little 7 year old girl and they just won
their first buckle at a 4 series youth rodeo (she rides a 12" MJ Ultimate).
Who would have thought a saddle could make this much difference.

I LOVE my ultimate saddle. I got an MJ
saddle about 17 years ago and rode in it till last year. I was in need for
another saddle since I was now running 2 horses. My husband took me to a
huge saddle shop and I sat in about 30 saddles. I held off in sitting in
the Ultimate until the end. I finally sat in it and I told my husband "Ahhh,
it feels like home". So I came home with it! I love my 2 MJ saddles and
wouldn’t trade them for the world!

I LOVE my Josey saddle. The stirrups and
seat fit me like they were made for me. I even talked my husband into
taking my old Josey saddle (he loves his too) so I could buy a new
one. When my daughter outgrows her current saddle I plan to buy her an
Ultimate also.
If you're sending out coupons for
responding, I'll be in the market for a new saddle soon...LOL

I bought an older model MJ about a year
ago off ebay. It was brand new, still had the tags on it, and had
been sitting in someone’s house. I’ve never seen another one like
it. Every edge on it is scalloped and it has silver plates mounted
on it. I originally bought it because it was so unique and
beautiful.
Then this spring, for some strange
reason, I put this never-been-used decked out silver plated saddle on
a 2 yr old I was going to break. I’m still not quite sure why I
decided to do it other than my filly is gorgeous and so is the
saddle. Always in the past I’ve used an older work saddle to break a
horse.
What I found out the first time I rode
in the saddle is that I was able to stay on top of my horse if she
bucked. I am famous for not being able to stick a bucking horse.
That’s not good when you break horses like I do. But this MJ let me
keep my seat and I felt so much more secure on my young horse and
training went so muck quicker because I wasn’t worried about getting
hurt.
I was so impressed with the security
this saddle gave me that I just had to have more. I started
replacing all of the other brand saddles in my barn. I bought a
brand new Iron Cross square skirt, a “like new” used round skirt and
another brand new square skirt – all in the space of about 6 weeks!
I breed, raise and train horses (Top
Tally, Talents Dark Angel are the more well known ones). From now on
when someone comes to try one of my horses, they will see them
saddled with a MJ.
Sincerely,

I have 3 saddles I have gotten from
Josey's! Two are ultimates-square skirts and 1 is the older pay window-rond
skirt. I have actually had 4 total- I sold my round skirt ultimate to a
friend who fell in love with it and talked me out of it. Course I just
turned around and bought a square skirt at the clinic I attended-ha-ha!
I LOVE them all! Wish I could afford one of the new Flex saddles-they
look awesome.

I currently have one Josey Ultimate at the moment, have had it since
01 with no problems. I LOVE it, always have. It has always been my
pick to put on my fastest horse, and i've deffintly tried my share on
him and always come back to it.
Last weekend alone it helped me to win 5th in the finals at the NBHA
Texas state show out of 535 horses!

I am not a spring chicken anymore and I need a comfortable saddle.
I like the ultimate because the way the stirrups are hung, you can
keep your leg position, stay balanced and keep your horse balanced
as well. It just seems to fit.

I LOVE my josey ultimate saddle
can't say enough good things about it. I try to ride in my
daughters saddles and they are so uncomfortable to me. I love the
forward hung stirrups and the deep seat. I also have to say I am a
large girl and the 15in is very generous in size. I don't feel like
I am spilling out of it like the other 15in saddles we have. I
would love to try the flex tree next but I am a JOSEY fan.

I ride a Josey Ultimate square skirt, 14.5 inch seat and love
it. It is by far the best saddle I have ever owned and so far
everyone who has tried mine to see if they like them agree.
